I heard through the gamer girl grapevine that there is to be a Arkham Asylum sequel. This is exciting news, it was an awesome game and to be honest I didn't even play it...I...co-played? Is that a phrase that even exsists? Anyways, check out the teaser trailer at arkhamhasmoved.com

Also I have started reading a new book called Graceling, so far I am finding it average for its quality though I do like the creative way the writer came up with the characters special abilities. In this series, certain people can be born with a grace. A grace can be anything from cooking to proficiency in killing (which the main character has). The way someone is identified as having a grace is the fact they have two different coloured eyes. I found this quite an interesting way to give an otherwise typical fantasy a unique twist.

On top of reading that I am also reading Wizard's First Rule and Dragon's of Autumn Twilight. I read alot, but when I get a book I like I will read it mulitple times.

Anyways that is all the nerdy news I have today.

Harry Potter 6

Tomorrow (Dec 8th) is the release on dvd for HP 6 - Half Blood Prince and I have to say I saw a preview whats being included in the bluray version and despite not having a bluray player or a tv capable of utilizing it to its fullest I might just buy it anyways. (My brother has a PS3 I can watch it on LOL)

Some the exclusive bluray content includes on set demonstrations by the cast, an interactive movie review with Dan Radcliff and the director and best of all a sneak peek of Deathly Hallows. Excuse my girly *SQUEE* I am such a Harry Potter nerd XD

Tsubasa Chronicles

I have just read the FINALLY concluded Tsubasa Chronicles and in true Clamp fashion the end of the series was royal messed up and sad I might add. I really hope they finish making the animated series. Though I have a suspicion after doing some research that the series will be concluded in a couple of OVA which I think sucks. They did such a fantastic job on the first two seasons and then it seems they kind of gave up for the end of the story.

Also if you want to understand all of Tsubasa you must read XXXholic as well since they are coinciding stories.

These two series are definitely on my to buy list. It isn't often that I love a manga so much that I want to buy every volume but they is definitely on my list.

Final Fantasy XIII

The long awaited release date has finally been announced. I am so excited for this game I can't even being to describe it. After watching countless trailers, previews and game demo's I was beginning to think Square Enix was never going to release the game at all, just hold it out in front of us like a piece of candy we could never touch.

BUT they have finally pulled through and set an official release for North America. The game is launching this December in Japan and will be released here and in Europe I believe on March 9th 2010. Four more months seems like nothing after nearly four YEARS of waiting.

I also found a trailer I haven't seen before that tells a bit more about the story between the characters themselves. It seems like the game is going to have a very deep story like most Final Fantasies and they have introduced a new system in the battles called Paradigm Shift. Though as to how it works I can only speculate.

****WARNING SPOILERS CONTAINED****

Abandon All Hope certainly was an appropriate title. Highlight below to read comments. As I said there are billions of spoilers so do not read it if you will be angered.

I was kind of disappointed at the anticlimatic face off with the devil and the fact that Cas was so easily trapped (though his escape method was probably the best part in the episode) and not only that but they killed off the two main women of the show. Though lets all be honest who really watches the show for the women with Dean and Sam as main characters. Yes I am a fan girl but no I am NOT a fan of wincest.

Overall the episode was kind of a slow ending to the season break. Now we don't get to see what happens for another EIGHT WEEKS!!! So cruel. Oh well now I will have time to catch up on Heroes.

Halo ODST

I am spending my friday huddled in an unfinished basement drinking a couple of beer and having some buffalo chicken pizza (ya I said pizza) AND playing Halo ODST for the first time. Well actually its the first time I've played a first person shooter type game ever.

I have to say I am impressed. I so far after an hour and half of playing am really enjoying the game and the story line. The swaping between characters keeps me engaged and the cut scenes are really quite well done.

My favourite thing so far is the music! I love it, it reminds me almost of final fantasy music in a way.

My two issues with the game, well one isn't so much the game as the Xbox 360 controller. I have a lot of trouble controlling my character with both swivel sticks. I have to move my character with one and move his vision with the other and that has proved troublesome a couple of times. I also have discovered I am a terrible driver when it comes to in game vehicles. Other then those two complaints which are really personal rather then actual gameplay issues I am thoroughly enjoying myself.

I had intended to start the night with Gears of War but unfortunately the used copy I bought is a hacked disk that someone returned. People are assholes. Anyways I have to return that and I think I will just splurge and buy a new copy so I know I get a proper version.

Anyways BACK TO GAMING!

Overhaul

I am going to completely rehaul this journal looking back at some of these posts they are HORRIBLEY depressing and well...I'm not like that anymore. SO, from this post forward 80% of my posts will involve geeky topics such as reviews of games I've tried. Upcoming news on geeky things like book releases and game releases and sometimes the odd life update but life is kind of boring so those will be rare.

I am also going to try HARD to update at least once a week. My next update will more then likely be about my first experience with a new video game. I have decided to overcome my video game bias and attempt some of the more popular ones like Gears of War and Halo.

Also regarding my last post. Nano was an epic fail again this year BUT I actually completed two short stories which is great because it was good practice in writing endings.

Anyways! On to the overhaul!

New Life and Job Updates

So as usual I haven’t update in a while but I have lots to tell since the last random update. Alright number one house thing was a total bust. For the time being there is no way the bank will give us a mortgage which is fine for I suppose. Instead I’m going to try for a car haha, move from one big purchase to another. I’m never one to give up when one plans fails I find something else to put my large amounts of energy into.

Next on the list I now have a job with Futureshop which I LOVE. It’s a great place to work, with great people and a great atmosphere. I have finished four shifts there and seriously I’m excited to go back for my next one. I really wanted to work tonight for the Modern Warfare 2 release at midnight. It seems like its going to be a fun time and the nerd in me can’t help but want to be there for a game release (even if it is for a game I would probably never play though I’m thinking sometime in the near future I should try it out LOL). I’m still thinking of swinging by at about quarter too and taking some pictures of the event but with no vehicle that could prove difficult.

Third on my list it is November which means two things. NANO!!!! and Christmas sneaking up on me. I have decided this year to make Christmas present for a lot of my friends and work on nano…which I am procrastinating on working on while updating my journal instead. Anyways what all this means combined with full time hours plus the extra I offer to cover for all the sick swiners is that I have no time at all for anything. I feel like banging my head on a wall sometimes to make myself stop thinking of things to do. Ya kinda like that.

So far I have made it halfway through one Christmas project, started two others (and royal messed one of them up) and fallen behind on my nano tonight (at least Im not even one full day behind yet) I know I should also be doing a dozen other things on top of those like oh I dunno exercising, maybe catching up with friends I’ve neglected over the last few weeks or even months.

I should probably stop for tonight or I will continue to rant forever. Maybe I will actually remember to update this more frequently lol. Not likely.

Oopsy

HAHA I am so terrible at writing a journal, what an epic failure but since I have stopped by her to look at something on a friends account I have decided to make an update regarding my life how it is right now.

After working at Bulk Barn for a short period of time and randomly quitting to fly out to Whitehorse to work for a week I moved back to New Glasgow and then headed back out west *BLARG* I worked out there for a while and I got to see my mother for Christmas and made some good money but as usual I got sick of being out there and have returned to Nova Scotia where at the moment I am living with Matt at his parent`s place.

I am working at Reitmen`s so I get 50% of clothes how awesome is that and I am getting EI for the time being. I have to say though life isn`t particularly where I thought it would be I am still happy and still loving being with Matt. He treats me so amazing even though sometimes I act like a snot and I snap at him. I love him so much. Wow that was sappy...but true.

Matt and I are trying to save up money to buy a house up the road from Matt`s parents place. It belonged to his grandmother. While the house itself is a major fixer-upper the land is beautiful. I am hoping we can save up a down payment and that the bank will give us a mortgage.

Anyways Im going back to watching Dirty Dancing and various other 80`s movies that I have suddenly taken a liking to watching. ~Niiiiight~

Back to the Abyss

Okay Okay so I know I haven't posted in a while my grand plan to keep updating at least twice a week has failed miserably. But I am motivated today...despite only just getting out of bed at 12:45pm. I WAS HAVING GOOD DREAMS!!!

Lets recap shall we...lost my job, had some summer fun, went home and wanted to die, had a run in with the ex, applied for some jobs, got an interview for friday. Thats about the most exciting stuff that has happened.

Now on to the fun stuff! I found ALL my old writing and some writing of other peoples. I have been going over it and weeding out all the stuff I think is really really terrible except for a few that are just too funny to get rid of. I am going to start rewriting (and hopefully finishing as I had a nasty habit of never doing that with anything) about five of them.

Two are vampire stories (on of which Rostand helped me with!), one is a sort of sci-fi-ish type thing and two of them are fantasy type with magic and such. I don't really have titles for most of them but Im excited to start writing them again. One of them is actually one of my old nano novels that I kept!

I still have more writing to go through. Oh and Caitlin! I found the ORIGINAL abyss notebook! THE ORIGINAL!!! How weird is that!

Wholly Random Night of Mayhem

So as I mentioned in my last random post, my friend that I have taken to calling Orion came to visit. He also brought another friend, Cameron. The same night they showed up Lukas and I (Lukas also being a code name) went for beer (yes I have suddenly gotten a taste for beer) and somehow became intoxicated. Later we met up with Nikki and then Orion and Cameron. The ensuing events were.....nothing but chaos.

I've no idea what came over the five of us but that night was by far one of the most random, hilarious and sexual evenings ever. EVER. There was a whole lot of humping....mostly Lukas and Orion, to each other. Please excuse me while I go laugh hysterically for a moment. There was also alot of groping, mostly done to me I realized. There is even a video to demonstrate.

Most spectacular of the entire evening is when Orion and Cameron did their little dance. OMG. Funniest thing I've ever seen two guys do...except for what happened after the dance. (Also a video for this but Lukas won't give me permission to put it on the internet XDDD)

Due to the lack of memory the next morning, and because of a similar incident the other night I've decided that its probably in my best interest to NOT drink EVER again. After a second evening out with a different group on saturday I was so dehydrated the next day that I probably should have gone to the hospital and I was sent home from work after only being there for an hour. I have not been that sick in a very very long time. I also remember very little from that night and I don't like forgetting things. So, no more drinking for a while, and must learn my limit better.

Random Post of the Day

In regards to the random early morning post I made the other day. Things have improved somewhat, the snoring has randomly lessened >>' so I got a decent night sleep saturday night and a mostly good nights sleep last night (there was a small bout of snoring at about four am but a swift kick in the leg ended that quite effectively) so Im much more chipper then I was the other day.

Also I have begun playing final fantasy 3 (the north american 6) and I have to say after three hours of straight game play on an emulator I am really enjoying it. I've only failed at one boss fight so far XD

In other news my friend Orion is coming up today to stay for a day or two. He has an interview at a animation school that I really hope he gets into. PS I am going to start calling certain non-LJ friends by character names that I've come up with for a lot of them. There really are only a few people who will actually know who I'm referring to.

Anyways I must go back to work and sell some furniture and make some money. Hurrah for money!....

I am faced with a new dilemma at the moment I don't quite know how to overcome. The person Im currently sharing a space with snores so horribley bad that at the moment I would like nothing more then to smother him with my pillow. I have not gotten one minute of full sleep tonight. I have tried kicking him, hitting him, poking him, using earphones to drown him out and nothing helps. The sound just rips through everything. Any advice would be much appreciated, I can't spend another night on the couch for the sake of sleep (as its really not much better for getting any).

Post Number 3

I think I must be sick or something, I never post this often. I just keep thinking of more things I want to mention on here. This particular post is regarding the animes and books I've been watching or reading.

First for books, I just finished a book called Once Bitten, Twice Shy. I wasn't sure I would like it at first but who can't love a book about a cia agent with a partner that is a 300 year old vampire. AWESOME. I love the style the book is written in and I love the story itself. I can't remember the author at the moment but I just know I loved the book and can't wait to get the other books in the series.

Im also still reading the Sword of Truth series and Im about a quarter of the way into Chainfire. I find the more I read this series the more I find it drags. Its interesting and the characters are great but things are getting a little monotonous. That still won't deter me from finishing the last three books though.

Now for anime. I am still watching D Grayman but I ended trailing off on that one for a while. I started watching SoulEater at matt frasers suggestion and I am amsued by the complete randomness of this series. It also has cool music. I finsihed watching all of Maburaho which was also awesome in its randomness. Cute story as well and highly entertaining. I started watching Mahou Sensai Negima tonight, also very entertaining. And finally I downloaded all of To Heart 2 only because I love one of the characters from it. XD

Oh on another note. I finally have begun sort of working on Elysium some more. I now have most of characters power written down. I just need Orion and the air student who I've yet to create though I do have someone in mind I'd like to base the air character off of, I believe matt already has someone choosen for that role. Ah well either way it will work. I started writting the first chapter as well and once I have some more of the details down I may post it here. WOOOO for writing!

Crazy Bus Man

So Im on the bus to work this morning and this older "gentleman" sits in the seats in front of me. When he gets on the bus is fairly empty but after several more stops it quickly fills up leaving his second seat the only empty seat on the bus. Apparently, his little blue bag has laid claim to it when a younger man gets on the bus a few stops later and indicates he would like to sit there the man WAVES him away! WHAT! Um excuse me sir, do you realize that the seats are meant for two people or are you just a cranky bastard.

The young man walks away and is forced to stand due to the man's apparent lack of caring. A few more stops later MORE people get on and a young lady walks by to stand near the back as there is only one available seat and lots of people that would like to sit there. As she walks by the seat the old man MOVES his frickin bag and waves her to sit down. WHAT. THE. HELL. Okay your not only a cranky old bastard but your also a dirty, cranky, old bastard.

Not much longer after that said girl gets off the bus and the blue bag regains its position in the seat next to its psychotic owner. As the bus begins to clear those that were forced to stand finally get seats though one poor young man who missed the previous waving away got a bit of a rude awakening when he attempted to sit in the seat with the blue bag. The old man was having none of that and picked up the bag and HIT the guy! Um...hulllllo didn't your mother ever teach you it was rude to hit innocent by standers you leacherous old coot.

When this mean old guy finally gets off the bus the first young man yells out several rude comments which in my opinion were completely reasonable requests but the man just appears to be oblivious as he wanders off down the road. Wholly hell where do these crazy people come from.

So I have officially broken up my relationship of six years. I have to say as hard as I expected it to be...it was alot easier then I made it out to be. I guess that just shows how much of a change I was in need of. Even though I was broken up for one night..........I've already made a new friend.

Also I have to move out of my apartment and into a friends place so I won't be online quite as often for a bit. Hopefully I get my t4 soon so I can do my taxes because Im really going to need the money. Lucky me I got stuck with the car and I am happy to have it but my car payment is a little high, plus I have to fork out money for registering the vehicle and insurance. XD I have so much to do...I never realized how much stuff we had together.

Anyways I should go I have a lot of stuff to do today so I can move out.

Darkside

I've come to the conclusion after talking to a certain friend that my hidden darkside is much deeper then I thought. Though because I've held such a submissive attitude over the years I've buried the particular aspect of my personality. Also on a side note, the last post I made referred to my hating sex...this darkside of myself my have something to do with that but I've yet to test the theory (and really have no way TO test my theory as my partner probably has no interest in what Im thinking)

HAHA! Mild mannered, shy quiet girl by day! Closet S&M girl by night....*AHEM* did I mention this is really only a theory. >>

New Story

I have decided to start working on a new story. I have yet to come up with a title for it but its going to be an alternate universe pirate story. The world itself will be the same, like countries will mostly retain the same names, cities will probably have different names though. In this world magic sort of exsists...at least its believed in, though only one of my characters actually experiences anything of the sort and that is a curse.

So far my characters are, Timolan (main character and first mate), Zephyer (one a set of twins and Gunner), Xander (the other twin and Cook), Drake (stow away and generally everyones b-tch)and Nashira (the intimadating female captain of the ship) Also there will be Antares a slave owner and highly respected business man, though hated by most pirates and his amusement Alya (a curse girl he found in Brazil and bought from her village, she of course ends up drawing the attentions of Timolan.)

So far I haven't written anything but I have my characters all planned out in my head and I think Im going to make it like journal from several different points of view. Nashira is a firm believer in writing your thoughts down daily, keeps the memory fresh and she does not like having simpletons on her ship. Most of it will be from Timolan's journal but there will be excerts from Nashira's and some of the other crew. I might possibly work Antares in there but I don't think so.

I finally paid of a good chunk of my credit card because I need to buy a plane ticket home for may...which reminds I had to change the dates again, now I won't be flying in until after the 27th...stupid sales.

Anyways, I was searching around on the internet for prices on a certain anime boxset. I have been looking for princess tutu and the other night I found it for 25 dollars. BOTH SEASONS!!! So I of course had to buy it. Altogether with shipping it cost me 37 dollars and some change. I thought it was a great deals but I feel bad for spending the money XD bad me. OH WELL! I have a new anime *does a dance*

Okay so I don't feel that bad...I don't really feel bad at all. I can't wait for that to get here so I can watch it on my tv. YAY!

PS: Went to a sleepover last night and it was awesome.

My Trip

My next exciting bit was that I went to a Thrice concert and it was AMAZING!!!! I had a great time aside from a bunch idoits that decided to mosh near the front of the stage. I was just trying to watch the band and once they started getting wild I got elbowed in the face and knocked on my ass. I guess others realized I am an inexperienced concert goer because before I even hit the ground I was grabbed by the arms and hauled to me feet, to whoever helped me up I greatly appreciate your help. To the idoits that apparently need to shove each other around for amusement, GO GET A JOB!!!

Alrighty next on my agenda, I have two new animes that I have fallen in love with. D Gray-man (my favourite character so far is Krory the not actually a vampire, vampire.) The other is Gundam 00 and just like I fell in love with Duo from Gundam Wing I have fallen in love with Lockon Stratos.

Anyways Im trying to watch a movie so I will go for now.

I was wondering if there is such a thing as a phobia of gas stations I realized today that I haaate getting gas and will go out of my way to avoid it. I begged someone at work to go get gas for me...I am a weirdo.
